Museum Displays
The Society endeavours to change the exhibition in the display cabinet throughout the year in co-operation with the Hampshire Library Service. The museum was declared open in Bordon library by Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mary Fagan who is seen examining the cabinet with a member of the Society and below to the right of the cabinet. Also in the picture from the left are Vice Chairman Colin brash, Naomi Jolliffe, Chairman Joan Martin, Pam Gardner, Cllr Adam Carew, the Mayor of Whitehil-Bordon Dr Chris Wain, Cllr Dr Bill Wain, Cllr Hilary Ayer and Liz Panton from Hampshire County Council.
The Opening Exhibition was of local Neolithic, Bronze Age and Roman artefacts from the area, loaned by other museums and local residents. The second exhibition explained the history and working of the Longmoor Military Instructional Railway and was inaugurated with a Public Lecture organised by the Hampshire Library Service. A third exhibition included items on loan from the Selborne Archives and military memorabilia loaned by the family of the late Lt Col Adlam, VC, a former Headmaster at Blackmoor School. A fourth covered the history of the Parish of Headley.
